    Misdeameanor clearence
Hi, I have a question reagarding misdeameanor, I got caught shoplifting back in 1992 and I pleadge no contestand ( I had a lawyer representing me). I was wondering when will the record clean from my file? Or is it going to stay forever? How do I get the record out from my file? Thanks

    Hello need:

It'll stay there FOREVER. You can have it removed through an expungement, if your state law has provisions for it. You'll need an attorney to get it.

First I always ask why "no contest"?? I say this because it serves very little reason unless you are trying to protect yourself from a civil suit.

But it will remain on your record forever unless you get it expunged. Not all states allow it but you will need an attorney to begin the process.
