Ask Me Help Desk - Probation Violation

Hi! My boyfriend was on probation and violated it by not going to his anger classes and missed a couple meetings with his officer and then wasn't home 2 times for curfew. He had a court date on September 8th that he didn't go to because I was in labor with his daughter. He said he didn't want to chance going to jail and missing the birth of his baby. I didn't end up having her until the 9th of September at 1:00am. He is currently in jail awaiting his court date on the 23rd of February. I am so nervous they are going to sentence him a lot of time for running from them. Anybody with some advice on what might happen to him please let me know something. His daughter and I really need him out here with us. PLEASE HELP!!

Des the court drug test me again at the hearing for my probation violation, it is my 1st one for misdemeanor dui charge and I tested positive for thc/meth. What else can I expect at the hearing/ calhoun county, Michigan court system. Thanks.

There is nothing much that anyone can tell you. He violated by NOT going to anger management classes, MISSING curfew AND missing meetings with his PO.

The Court tried to give him a break on his first sentence. This time they aren't going to be so nice. I would say he's going to have to serve his original sentence (had he not been put on probation) as well as additional time for the violation.

Your need to have him there is not going to mean anything to the Court. I'm sure they think he should have thought of that some time ago.

They may or may not. It is up to the Court and your past record, if they believe you are violating probation.

Ashley - you might be able to get an idea of just what for jail time your boyfriend could be facing if you have a copy of his original Final Disposition paperwork. It will be spelled out in detail. This way when he is in front of his original sentencing judge, the judge will be able to read the terms of his probation and then decide if he wants to follow his original sentence impositions for the violation(s) of probation.

If you can't find this paperwork, you can call up the Criminal Clerk's Office at the Courthouse and have them read this Final Disposition paper to you over the phone. This way you'll know what's in store for your boyfriend.

And no, you cannot get this information off the internet. You could also go in person if you are able to and read this for yourself out of his court paperwork. It's public information and the Clerk's Office will get the file for you so you may read it.
