My kitten had a cold. Now I don't know what's wrong
I found a small female Siamese kitten a few weeks ago. She was being trapped by a couple of dogs so we got them away and took the kitten with us. She's gorgeous and loving, spunky and totally playful. I had noticed after a few days with her, she had a bit of a cold. I talked to a vet that told me it was probably due to being out in the cold weather when I found her and it would be similar to the human common cold. Just keep her warm and make sure she eats well she should be fine in a few weeks. It had been almost a month after that and she still sneezed a bit.. but I read something online that said if they have a sneeze when they are really young they may keep it throughout life. She was doing fine other than the small sneeze she still had. She ate like a horse.. drank her water and kitten milk just fine, played with my other kitten and still a total love. She crawled up in my lap a few nights ago, like she normally would... but then I noticed she was sleeping ( I thought ) in a rather odd position so I started to move her to make her more comfortable.. but her body was completely limp. It took a few seconds for her to even open her eyes and then she started crying and trying to move.. but fell over every time. It was 8 pm on a Friday night and I don't have a local vet due to recently moving to the area. I went through the phone book and left an emergency call to every clinic I could find. It took until about 10 to get her to a vet out of town that would see her that late without being a prior customer of theirs. The vet looked her over.. told me he was going to keep her at least over night and keep an eye on her vitals. He gave her something to settle her stomach and something to hydrate her while she slept. I heard from him again early the next morning and he told me she was up and walking a little bit and she could keep her balance.. she was urinating and alert but he was unable to get her to eat so he wanted to keep her another day and try to get her eating. I got a call from him early this morning to come and pick her up.. even though she still hadn't been eating. I brought her home... set out a dish of water, kitten milk, her favorite dry cat food, a can of beef wet food and a can of chicken wet food. She will drink the water... but won't touch anything else. No vets in the area will do anything for her because she "seems" to be trying to adjust to being back home. I know my kitten better than anyone and I know she had a very good appetite before this ordeal. I don't know what else I can try to do to get her eating, I don't want to force her... but in the same breath, I don't want her to starve.

You're right, you do know her better than anyone else does. My advice would be to be patient a little longer: If she just got home from the vet today, it might take her nerves a while to settle enough to begin eating. The most important thing right now is that she's drinking. I would watch her closely through the day and into the night and see how she's doing tomorrow. If she still won't eat anything by tomorrow morning, I'd get her to a different vet.

How's her behavior since coming home this morning?

Well, She slept on the car ride home... I held her for a while and she purred but she hasn't been moving much. I have her curled up on the bed with me... keeping her nice and warm and comfortable, She just sat down where I put her and hasn't moved much.

One thing to consider is that she might be just exhausted. Whenever my cats have had to spend any time at the vet, they come home and just pass out for the rest of the day. This may not be what's going on with her, of course, but it wouldn't be surprising either.
