    No insurance,no license accident
I live in Iowa and I was involved in a car accident. The other driver who was at fault does not have a drivers license and does not own the vehicle. The person that does own the vehicle has insurance. Will her insurance cover this non licenced driver? She said she did not give him permission to drive the vehicle, however I have my doubts as it is her boyfriend who lives with her.

Her insurance should cover. If he did not have permission to use the vehicle then he should be arrested for auto theft as well as driving without a license.

Yes, if she presses charges against him for stealing the auto, the company may consider not paying. And/or unless he was specificly listed as a non driver, I have had people listed on my policy before that would not be covered if driving.

But basically stop talking to the other people and start putting your claim in against them.

Regarding my question about no license and would her insuance company pay. What if she knew he did not have a license and she did not stop him from taking the vehicle. I am wondering why an insurance company would pay for a person that does not have a license. I would think it would be her responsibility to make sure the person driving her vehicle has a license. I just do not want my insurance to pay for this. I do not think she will press charges either way.

Because they are required by law to pay, they have the option at that point to going back and doing a law suit againt her for allowing the illegal activity.
But merely not having a valid license does not make the insurance invalid

But what you do, turn it in to your insurance, let them deal with her insurance, get your car fixed Your insurance attorneys know all the laws and can force them to pay wha they are suppose to

An insurance company protects the owner of a vehicle. Depending on the terms of the policy they would have to pay. If her insurance refuses to pay, then you file a claim with your carrier and let your carrier sue hers.
