Hi all,
I created a schedule C and SE to cover taxes on some childcare my wife did in 2008. The software automatically put $100.00 in the 1040 as an earned income credit.
Is this possible when the child is not ours.
Thanks
Jim

Jim:
You CAN get the Earned Income Credit without having a child. I assume you did NOT list the child as a dependent in Line 6 of the Form 1040.
Thanks ATE, missed that somewhere. You are right, we did not list him as dependent
Glad to help!
