    2007 W2 forgot to claim
Can I use a W2 from last year that I forgot to claim in 2007 taxes on this years taxes.
The reason why is I'm looking for a bigger refund this year and the only way to do that for me is to have a higher income.

If you neglected to list a W2 on your 2007 taxes, you are lucky you haven't been audited. But no, you can't claim it for 2008. What you CAN do is file an amended 2007 return.

I'm not sure how you think that will get you a bigger refund. Unless you were grossly overwithheld, you may wind up with a lesser refund.

The reason he has not been audited is that the IRS is just now beginning to review 2007 returns.

He needs to amend the 2007 return to pre-empt any problems.

Just curious on this one. I thought the IRS did some computerized checking almost immediately. Checking to make sure all W2s and 1099s were listed for example.
