OK straight to the point. A girl I know shows all the signs of being interested in me, yet also displaying all the tell tell signs of playing hard to get. How do I get around hat w/out coming off too strong and blowing all chances out of the water?

Flirt but not too strong. Keep some mystery about yourself as well. Play a little hard to get yourself. If there is interest from both parties then I think invariably something will come of it. Flirting is fun.
Keep it fun, be funny, joke with her etc. but don't show her too much attention. In other word when you are around her don't aim all your energies to her.

Play the same game with her. Give off signs of being interested in her but likewise play hard to get. Call her but not too often (once every two weeks or so should do it), let her see you talking with other girls, occasionally mention other girls in your conversations with her. Keep her dangling on a thread just like she's doing to you now. She will either become more assertive or back off completely and in either case you'll have your answer.

Ask to coffee or a drink... talk... LISTEN... make her laugh. Keep it simple stupid!
