New toilet and still won't flush properly
Long story, but here goes... I had plumbers in because my toilet was leaking water onto my basement ceiling. They replaced the seal on the toilet and immediately afterwards it wouldn't flush properly.. filled with water, about 3/4 of the way in the bowl and water gushed up out of my sink drain that is sitting beside my toilet. They said that my sewer line must be plugged... so they had a company come in and use an electric eel on the line. After they were finished it still continued to do the same thing. The plumbers came back in and tried plunging and snaking the toilet to no avail. Still the same problem. They said it must be something to do with the toilet.. so I had them replace it. The problem seemed fixed for about 4 days.. and guess what.. its doing the same thing!! I am at my wits end... $1300.00 later and still the same problem. Anyone have any advice??:mad::mad:

If water is still coming up in sink drain when toilet is flushed, then you still have a clogged drain. Need to be either augered from closet flange, or from vent on roof. Let me know what you think.

The old toilet may have been backing up just enough for the old wax ring before. Either or. The odds of getting a bad toilet once is rare but twice and still a clog The plumbers here are the weak link. If the clog wasn't completely taken out the 4 days later clog. Or of the snake wasn't long enough and just pushed the clog further down the line and they didn't use enough snake. Was the vent pipe checked or routed out?
This is not a toilet problem at this point. Call the company out and get them to do a complete JOB of unblocking the drainage lines. Also do you know where the vent is on that toilet?

No... the old toilet worked fine... just leaked water down onto my basement ceiling... I had the same plumbers in to replace old toilet and it seemed to work fine after installation.. but now 4 days later.. same problem!! So their diagnosis of it being the toilet is rare, like you said.. so I hate to call them back! Any suggestions?? /

How do you unclog a roof vent? Because they used the eel on the lines and said everything is okay... but did nothing with the roof..?

Same tool you get up on roof and snake down the vent pipe 20+ feet. If the vent is for some reason partially clogged from tree debris or water froze in there the clog before could be a result of that. Since the vent wasn't checked and the clog was once removed the because of the vent not done a new clog forms.
Does the tub and sinks drain well?
Bottom line snake out vent pipe from roof and pull toilet and snake that. Is a tub .
Describe all location and levels of sinks tub etc.
