    Lose Yourself
I need some help on writing essays. I always include way too much detail and the original meaning of my print is lost in the clutter. I was wondering if anyone had a method for cutting down on the detail, but still keeping the essay itself interesting. Thanks!

The first sentence of a paragraph is typically the basis of the entire paragraph. All the rest is just explanatory description. If you have a rambling thought, write it down on a separate pad. That thought would be the first sentence of another later paragraph.
This keeps me from putting more than one idea into a paragraph.
The entire document should have one theme. Keep checking yourself to ensure all these paragraphs actually relate to that theme.
    Focus!

    Hi, godsbabygirl267!

In addition to the very fine answer that you were given by bones252100, above. I'd like to add that keeping on task to your original thesis statement is important. People that read your thesis will want to find that it has more "stuff" than "fluff".

If information that's not really relevant to proving what you have stated in your original statement isn't really needed for support of your statement, then it would be advisable to leave that information out.

    Thanks!

The main idea of the essay is the most important part of the essay, if certain information is not constructive to the main idea of the essay than it should be left out, just take your time and take notes while working on the essay and you'll eventually complete it.
