    03 trailblazer speedo gone haywire
Hey guys, My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer's speedo reads 10 mph when standing still and sometimes even goes up to 50. Some other site suggested disconnecting battery but seems to only be tempporary fix. Happens over and over. Any ideas before I get a ticket for speeding? Please help! Thanks in advance

. Reset ECM by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes, recording any radio codes first. This will force the ECM to relearn all shift points and clear any erroneous settings.

. Check/replace the Variable Speed Sensor (VSS), located on the transmission.

    . Clean the VSS connector.

Contact your local dealer, as soon as possible.

They may be able to help you, but it is based primarily upon your current odometer reading.
If your less than 70,000 miles or so, you can take advantage of a special policy put in place due to the known high failure rate of these speedometer instrument clusters.
The problem is with the display drive servo that is built into the instrument panel cluster
