Security cameras on my building across the road
I had someone break into my building. I want to put up cameras at the building and the house but I don't know what to get. The building is about 150 feet from my house and you have to cross a 2 lane road. Wireless is the thought that comes to mind but what will be good enough to send a signal out that far? Or should I go with hard wired? I don't know what to get. Can someone help me?

Do you want to catch them, or sound an alarm? Can you see the other building from your house?
Are you on the same Transformer? If so X10 or PLC devices can work.
Linear makes good Transmitters and receivers that can help, as well as Optex Wireless motions and receiver, 1000' range, contains a 9 volt battery and can be placed anywhere quickly, I would disable/block the LED so as no to give away its location. Do you have DSL?

Here's the Optex, They work great, the receiver can handle 3 motions, and has a dry contact that can hook to a buzzer, light, recorder:
Secure your property with the Optex RCTD-10U Annunciaotr -Long Range Wireless Transmitter / Receiver Set from Wireless Annunciators

And, do you have Electric? If not, any or all of your needs can be done with a car Battery, at 12 volts.
