Final steps to complete divorce in California
Can any one help me? I reside in California and my attorney STINKS! I have pretty much done 75% of the leg work on getting my divorce filed. I just don't know how to get my divorce final! My soon to be ex has not responded to the paperwork he was served and we have no minor children. We have drawn up an MSA because we both own the house he is living in still and I want to protect my asset. I have an MSA, and I&E and need to know what else needs to be filed so I can take it to the court house myself. Any suggestions are appreciated.

If he has not responded to the paperwork, how long has it been since it was filed? You might be able to move for a default if it has been more than 30 days with no response from him. (Google the words "default" "divorce" and "California")

He was served on July 24, 2008. He did not respond.

You should be able to move for a default, I believe it essentially allows you to get the divorce without his cooperation or input. It's almost like putting the Mute button on him.
