    Broadband speeds
    Hi there, Just wondering if my Downloading and uploading speeds should be the same.
    I have maximum on both up and down on my broadband plan

    I did speed test and my download is aprox 5000 kbs and upload 700.
    Is this normal if its supposed to be maximum both ways

    Yes, sounds about right for a domestic connection.
    Unless you are paying $$$$$ you won't have a symmetrical connection, after all most surfing is concerned with download speeds.

    If you get a service such as BPL(broadband over powerlines) it is symmetrical... other services such as EVDO are sometimes closer. For instance locally EVDO gets about 1-1.5mb down and 700-1000up although it is not symmetrical. Most traditional broadband companies however do not offer symmetrical unless you pay for a t1 or something.
