    Trying To Get Pregnant
I'm 23 and I've been with my husband for a little over 4 yrs now. We only used protection for the first month of our relationship. We've been talking about having a baby for the past 2 yrs now.

As long as we have been together and not used protection scares me. I think its something wrong with me, due to the fact that, when I was 17, I noticed that when I gently squeezed my nipples there was a discharge, like lactating. I went to the doctors and they told me that it was normal, as were my hormone levels. My mother had a hard time getting pregnant as well, she miscarried a few times before me and after having me, found out she had ovarian cancer.

Im worried that there might be something wrong with my body, or that I might be infertile.

Is it normal that after this long with someone and not using protection, that I havent conceived?

Your best bet would be to go for a fertility test.
That way you can an answer instead of wondering and just worrying yourself.

Good Luck and I wish you all the best.

Probably a good idea you both go for fertility tests.

    Please, go get a checkup.

Both for the question of fertility and for regular checkups concerning the history of cancer in your family.

You might be absolutely fine. Some people have a harder time getting pregnant. Getting checked isn't going to create a problem. If there is an issue, they will work with you to resolve it. If there isn't, your man might also need to be checked. Again, there are things that can be done to help you.

If I'm not mistaken, the benchmark is about a year for trying regularly to conceive and it not happening... then you go see a doctor to explore possibilities.

On a side note, one I've mentioned before in posts, acupuncture can increase fertility.

I wanted to update this topic.

I found out last night that I'm pregnant, after 4 yrs of semi trying. Just out of the blue. This time we weren't even thinking about getting pregnant, but rather focused on something else. Sure enough my pregnancy test came out posistive.

I just wanted to tell the ladies that are having difficulties getting pregnant, Don't think that there is always something wrong with you. I never went to see the doctor and here I am after 4 yrs, pregnant. There is always hope. Sometimes it just takes longer for other couples.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know how difficult it can be to get pregnant. I wish the best for you and yours. Now, make sure you call your doctor this time, and schedule that first visit!
