Sink Drain slip joint doesn't fit
So I am finishing the installation of a new vanity and am stuck on the last step. The new Facuet has a 1-1/4" drain pipe, which becuase the new vanity is higher, ends about 3" above the previousily installed PC trap. The drain is also about 1" off center. I went to Home Depot and got a 1-1/2" flexible tail piece which seemed as if it would work.

However. When I got home although the tailpiece fit on the drain it did not fit on the PVC trap, as it is also on 1-1/2" (the trap isteself is larger but there is a small fitting at the end dropping it to 1-1/2" with an existing slip joint on it).

So with a 1-1/4" drain and a 1-1/2 trap connection, can I get a flexible connection to fit this? It seems like i need a 1-1/2" top connection and 1-1/4" on the bottom. I can't seem to find these listed on line.

Thanks. I would love to have an answer before I head back to Home Dept - again!

There should have been two gaskets that came with your PVC trap. One 1 1/2" gasket and one 1 1/2 X 1 1/4" gasket,(see image). If you don't have one then pick 0one up at your local plumbing shop. Good luck, Tom
