Hi my name is Ariana, I have been in this country since February 17, 1993 but now I have a big, big problem. My Alien card expired on March 2003 I have been very careless and have not renewed it and I would like to, I cannot do anything with myself without it (no jobs, no college, no bank acoounts, no state I.D, no driving etc... ). Is this going to be a major problem for me since its been about 6 years that it expired? Im I considered illigal now? What can I do about this, PLEASE HELP?:)


My other question is do you think Im a citizen? I was born in 1983 I will be turning 26 in about two and a half months I was brought into this country by my father we are from the Dominican Republic. My dad became a US Citizen when I was about 15 maybe 16 and he would always talk about that I would automatically become a US Citizen, he would have to just send in an application, he never did so I really do not know what happened there. I would just like to know If I ever became a US Citizen or not - PLEASE HELP?:confused:

The Immigration expert will come along to answer you but you really need to take all of your papers do an Immigration Attorney and get this sorted out.

First of all, you need to talk to your father and find out about the date he became naturalized. If you were younger than 18 at that time, you can file N-600 to obtain Certificate of Citizenship. If you were over 18 when he became naturalized, you have the choices of..

• File I-90 to renew your greencard.
• File N-400 to obtain citizenship.
