    Anxious Sister
    California, eviction of adult stepchild
PROBLEM My sister lives in California (San Diego area) and is being subjected to frequent and extreme pysochological abuse which is on the brink of turning physically violent, by her step daughter aged 27 who is bi-polar. My brother in law (father of the abuser)is very disabled and unable to do anything to help.
    QUESTION
How can my sister materially and legally go about evicting the step-daughter? The step-daughter contributes no money to the household and refuses to go to live with her natural mother.

    Hello Sis:

Your sister has to evict her just like ANY tenant. The rules to do that can be found in your state landlord/tenant law. We have a copy of them at the top of the real estate page on a sticky note.
