How to clean a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard
We have a two year old dishwasher that stops working at the drain cycle. First the 4 and 6 hour delay lights go on, then they go out, the dishwasher shuts down and the red light above Normal Wash blinks rapidly. I suspect that, because this occurs at the drain cycle, that the machine needs to be cleaned. If I disconnect the power and wait a few minutes and plug it back in, I can then press the Cancel/Drain button twice and the machine drains, but soon returns to the red blinking light over the Normal Wash button. We bought the machine used and so, no manual. Questions: Where can I download a manual? And how do I clean the machine?

Thanks, in advance for any help.

Had the same problem - cleared the discharge hose (drain line) found at the bottom front of the machine. This is not a pretty job. You'll need to lie flat on your stomach to get at all this. You'll need to remove 4 metal screws to remove the toe plate. Where the hose connects to the drain discharge near the middle of the unit remove clamp by squeezing the end tips with a pair of pliers. Get a pan ready cause there's always some water left in the drain mech. I found some toothpicks, and a chicken bone lodged in at the connection point itself. Once cleared it ran great again. It's a small (but uncomfortable) job which will save you a $120 service call. Good luck!
