Schedule 40's a designation of weight and wall thickness. Schedule 20 has thinner walls 3while schedule 80 has thicker walls. We use Schedule 40 in most of our installations. Good luck, Tom

In addition to the info you got in previous posts: Plastic pipes come in certain wall thicknesses and density. For example, PVC pipe may come schedule 10, 20, 40, 80. The durability and flexibility of pipe is higher as numbers get higher. Therefore, Schedule 40 is better then schedule 20 etc.

For what application do you want to use plastic pipe for ?
