Awful cold water pressure (only to washing machine)
    Hi there,
I'm new to this site so please excuse me if I make a mistake.
    Anyway,
I am having a problem with cold water pressure to my washing machine. I am on a well and get good pressure everywhere except to this area. The section of the basement that the washing machine resides is slightly elevated (about 2 feet) from the well but my upstairs pressure is fine. Also, the washing machine gets good hot water pressure ( the boiler and superboost are right next to the laundry area.
Could my problem be a bad pipe? Or something else?

    Thanks,
    Lynn

Start by trying this,, turn cold water valve to washer off, then unhook washer supply hose at both ends. There is probably a screen at one end of the hose or the other. If screen is plugged, clean it, or just take a pair of needle nose pliers and rip it out. Now, hook hose back up and see if your problem is cured.

Please let me know if this works, and if it does, please rate my answer. If it doesn't work, let me know and we will take the next step.

Ok I'm going to try it. There does appear to be a small amount of lime build up around the connection. I just have to find my adjustable wrench!

If there is a screen, you will have to clean it, or if you want to remove it, you will have to cut the screen out and reuse the washer. Or replace the screen washer with a washer from a garden hose.
