L1 visa and EAD tax return
    Hi,

I am on L1 visa. Hence my employer is deducting tax. My wife is on EAD. She is working as Consultant. She usually get payment by check.
She earned around 18k in last financial year. How much does she owe ? Rough idea would be helpful.

How should I file the tax return
    - Married Jointly
    - Married Separately

    Thanks in advance,

    Leo

You can file resident return as married filing jointly.
If you want to file separate returns, then you will file resident or non-resident or dual status tax return based on your resident status.

More than likely, filing jointly is best, especially if you have children.
