I can't make up my mind of which one is better. (Trane) Furnce (XV95), Heat pump (XR14) and Amana Furnace(ACV9) Heat Pump (ASZ14). Both package is the same price. I live in Western Washington.

Installation is key. So if these are both being offered by an installer you know and trust to a good job then it looks like the Amana might have a better warranty unless you one of the qualified Trane outdoor units.

If you're not sure about the installer, start over.

With trane you need to be aware that the parts down the road are,, 1st expensive
2nd, hard to get sometimes
3rd ,not carried by anyone but a trane dealer
4th,did I say expensive

Many/most all the parts for Amana or universal type and most all tech`s have or have access to them very quickly

Or maybe rethink the heatpump altogether. Maybe think about just going gas or propane, or( I hate to say it) strictly electric. Heatpumps are the industrys wild child, never now what your going to get.

Thanks for info. It just that both have very good reputation. The good thing about Trane is that there is a $300.00 rebate from puget sound energy and $300.00 tax credit for next year. Amana has 99 years warranty on compressor, but then it will be forfeited if you sell the house.

Just tell the Amana dealer you will save $600 by buying the trane,, maybe he will help you a little on his price

But really,, down the road I believe you will save money with the amana
