93 Civic Si Battery Light (I DON'T GET IT)
Hello all, first post. For about 2 weeks now my battery light has been coming on randomly but never stays on, my sub cuts out and lights dim (mostly in the cold mornings). I checked the voltage on my alt of and on and when it was on it read 14.6 I have already replaced the battery and that obviously didn't help. Checked my terminal connections (cleaned them). So now the same problem persists and I am getting very irritated about this. I'm stumped. Oh by the way the alt is about 10 months old... and yeah the belt is visibly fine. Thank you

The belt being "visibly" fine.. and actually being fine are different. If its slipping then it could cause this. Try replacing the belt.

Have you checked the voltage while the lights are dim and the light is on?

Yes I checked the voltage while on and off and it only dropped .1 volts I will look into the belt. Just curious what would cause the altenator belt to slip?

There could be a ground or a wire elsewhere that's loose. Has this been happening since you got the new Alt?

No not at all. This just started about 2 weeks ago. It has been getting a little worse.

Oh I forgot to mention. Sometimes when I warm my car up in the morning or when Im about to leave work whens its near normal running temps the battery light flickers around idle and keeps popping up a lot. More so then any other moment.

Well, it seems that the Alt is putting out good volts... I have to lean towards a short/bad wire somewhere.
