93 v6 camry with no fire
I have a 1993 toyota camry xle 3.0 v-6. I have no fire going to the cap. I have replaced the ignitor, coil, plugs, wires, cap, button and ecu, and still no fire. Does my distributor have a module or diode built into it that will cause my problem. I have heard that it does and it will not send a signal to the coil to send power. Do you know how to test the distributor to see if it is bad? Thanks for the help and god bless

I believe that on that model, there is a "hall effect switch" that acts like the points on an older car. It follows the cam and sends a pulse when the engine should fire. This may be the "ignitor" you mentioned -- or not.

On the other hand, this model may have an computerized ignition -- in which case the computer may not be sending the signal to generate a "spark".

. Test all underdash and underhood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Test for power to the distributor. If none, check the ignition switch (for wear, pitting, or melting) or an open in the wire to the ignition switch.
