    Applying for a german passport
I am Australian but my Father was German at the time of my birth and I still have all of his side of my family living in Germany and I am trying to get my German passport.
I have read that my parents have to have been married when I was bourne to get my german passport, but they weren't.
Is this true and is there another way around it, like a DNA test or something?

    • If your father did not report your birth to the German consulate,
    • If you are now over 18 years of age,
    • If your father became naturalized,

Then you may not eligible.. there are more details, better consult immigration attorney.
