How do I know if I need a fan motor for my car. The air or heat coming out of the vents is minimal at best. Is it the motor or something else.

Is the air volume low or is the temperature of the air low? If it is low air volume. Some later model vehicles have cabin air filters that get dirty and reduce air flow. If it is low air temperature. The heater core could be plugging or the thermostat may not be closing down on low water temperature.

What year, make & model is your vehicle? You may have a bad blower motor resistor.
