My dachshund puppy tunnels and growls.
She will tunnel under a bunch of blankets and then growl viciously. Is this normal? It sure is hilarious.

It sounds like she is playing to me. Does she growl at any other time?

Dachshunds are bred to go down tunnels after badgers, hence the name. (Dachs =badger Hund = dog) This is perfectly normal behavior for a dachshund. They have the hearts of badgers themselves!!

I have a doxie and would not find her growling at me or anyone else very amusing. She buries her self, but is always happy when we flop next to her or uncover her.

I may have read it wrong, but I don't think that they OP's dog is growlig at her, but growling while she's digging.

Yes, it's normal, but can become a dangerous behavior. Many of these dogs, when outside, will dig under a fence, get loose and are never seen again.

There are many techniques that can help her stop this behavior. Dachshunds are bred for a purpose, their instincts cannot be ignored, so stopping the behavior will be difficult and must be replaced with something that will fulfill this need.

Since she has become better friends with my cat, and they have been playing all the time, she stopped digging at the bed. I just think that she may have had some excess energy.
And I do not accept her growling at me.
