My question is, one year ago I was crossing the international border with a friend, my friend happened to have withough my knowledge a fake visa card, so I was accused of smuggling that person even though I was not charged or convicted I was finger printed, I am studying to be a preeschool teacher and need to be cleared will this affect me even though I was not charged... Please Help:confused:

I thought you get finger printed when you are convicted.

If you are sure that you were not convicted, then it shouldn't be on your record.

You get fingerprinted when you are taken into custody. If you were not charged, there is nothing to worry about. I was fingerprinted when I applied to West Point. I was finger printed again when I joined the army.

Its just a finger print. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah... I guess that was my confusion. Taken into custody gets you fingerprinted.

I am aware that you get fingerprinted in other situations.

I got mine done for my Certified Shorthand Reporter license.

If you're asking us, will your indiscretion be hidden from ANYBODY who might be looking for it?? If you are, I for one, couldn't, with any certainty, tell you that.

People seem to think there is one kind of background check. But, that couldn't be further from the truth. Like any consumer product, there's cheap ones, like the ones on the internet, and there's expensive ones done by private investigators.

The cheap ones probably won't turn up anything. I did a cheap one on myself. It didn't show ANYTHING, and we know that's wrong. But, the expensive ones will turn up EVERYTHING, including the color of your underwear.

So, it really depends on how much your prospective employer is willing to spend to find out stuff. If I were hiring for a pre-school, I'd want to know a LOT about who I hired.
