    Basement shower/trap placement
The rough-in for my basement shower just has a two-inch stub coming straight up off the main sewer line. I'm also planning on placing the shower about 2 to 3 feet from this original location and moving the sink. I'd like to drain both the shower and the sink into this location. First, can I tee this line and drain the sink and shower here? And second, how should I get the p-trap for the shower in? I was planning to build a cement platform for the shower rather than bust concrete in the basement. Should I set the p-trap in concrete? And how far above the sewer line does the p-trap need to be?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

The 2" shower stub up already has a trap under the cement and you can't double trap a fixture
If you wish to move fixtures you'll have to open up the cement to do so. The shower should connect to the toilet drain lineand run a vent out the roof and the shower drain should be connected to the lavatory drain and be wet vented by it. (Call your Building Department to be sure wet vents are allowed.) Regards, Tom
