    Getting rid of dark color?
My hair is naturally light brown and I died it black about 4 months ago. It's dark brown now but I want my light brown hair back. I was wondering if there is anything a hair salon can do for me, can they strip the color out and re-dye it my natural color again?

The color can be stripped out and re-dyed. There are two types of color strippers (color removers). Many salons use Effasol (L'Oreal). Effasol is a glorified bleach and often leaves hair in simply horrible condition. Another type is exemplified by ColorFix, ColorZap and Igora Phantom (Modulat). This type of color remover is the opposite of bleach. It damages the hair minimally.

If you get a salon to do it, ask what they use to strip the color and if they use Effasol, run away.

One more thing. Hair that's been dyed, stripped, and re-dyed may become fairly porous. In that case, your hair may tend to fade after re-dyeing.
