Co signed a loan application but not the Promissory Note
Back in 2000 I filled out A LOAN application as a co-signer for a friend, when I found out the amount of the loan and the interest rate I changed my mind and decided not to sign the Promissory Note. I just found out that my friend has signed my name as the co signer on the Promissory Note. The last payment that was made on the account was in 2003. I asked the credit agency to fax me the loan documents and sure enough my signature is on the application but on the Promissory Note you can tell that my friend forged my signature. My question is since I only filled out the application part does that make me responsible for the loan? ( This took place in GA)

If you didn't sign the note, you don't owe for it. You may want to take this up with your local district attorney; it sounds like a felony. Put the lender on notice that your signature has been forged.
