    Child support beyond age 18
I live in Ohio,I was told by my ex husbands laywer that my son can only receive child support until the age of 19 he said that was the law. My son is two years behind in school due to being born with multiple heart defects(he had several open heart surgerys) and a slight learning disability (he is on a IEP). He will not graduate high school until he is one month away from being 20. Can he receive child support until he graduates high school ?He deserves the chance to finish high school with support from his father he has had a rough life and without the support he may not finish knowing I can't support him on my own.

This should be covered in the portion of your divorce which addresses child support.

The law in Ohio is: "Upon request, the court will modify a child support order based on:

A change in the custody of a child
An increase or decrease in the income of either parent
Obligation of either parent to support additional children or elderly parents
Addition of or a change the health insurance coverage
    Additional unexpected medical expenses
Additional expenses for the special needs of gifted or handicapped children"
