Ah the dreaded friend zone.
Say a you like a girl that may be in a bad relationship or just getting out of one and is emotionally upset and you want to date this girl so you comfort her and be her "friend"
So she notices this nice friendship that you're extending so she calls you when she's sad or depressed and you're always there for her.. to listen to her ex-boyfriend problems
You then unfortunetly become the " just a friend" because for one.. she's heartbroken and two, if she can have you at her disposal and has told you her deepest secrets she just won't "see you that way" you have reached a boundary that no guy friend (that wants to date the girl) should ever go..
To aviod this? Don't go after girls who are dealing with heartbreak and are needy.. If you happen across a great girl that is in the situation, keep your distance and don't be "too nice" and DON'T BE HER SHOULDER TO CRY ON!
Best bet, date healthy emotionally available women
Watch the movie "Just friends" and you will see what the "friends zone" is.
Right on point.Quote:

If you want to date a girl, you have to maintain a healthy life of your own. This will allow you to maintain your distance from being there all the time for her. This will also make you unavailable and mysterious, therefore making her think of you.
Basically, don't allow your life to revolve around the girl, especially since you really don't know them very well. Live your own life and allow the girl to share your life with you. Don't be there ALL the time for them, but don't be totally aloof either.
You have to find that balance in yourself, which usually comes when you are not looking for a relationship or anything to begin with. You can't force anything when it comes to dating or relationships. If you try to force something, you will not get the results you want.
Friend zone is where they put people to keep them close, but not really a romance thing.
Being busy, and keeping your life balanced, will keep you as a friend, but not so available to be just a buddy, at someone's emotional needs. Usually friendzone refers to exes, but can also be potential partners. Friendship and mystery, sparks and feeds attraction, but familiarity can kill it.
It's a crap shoot, so how you deal with dating, and relating with others, is your key, so don't worry about friend zones. Being confident enough to be able to let go when it ain't happening, is what you strive for, as feelings come, and go ALL the time. Adjust, and be flexible.
