Maybe he decided the age gap was something he couldn't handle... Or feared his family couldn't.

We couldn't possibly know what he's thinking or how you were in bed.

Did you think of asking why?

What did you think of the experience? Did you hugely enjoy it? I find in most situations, but especially sexual ones, one can hazzard a guess at the other's experience by looking at the way they felt.
