Hooking a gas dryer up to a gas line

I bought a new gas dryer. I need to hook the dryer up to the gas line. The gas line has a T connector with a cap on it.
I think the gas line and the female connector is 1 inch, but I'm not sure. As near as I can tell, I'll need to get an adaptor that goes from 1 inch down to 1/2 inch, put in a 1/2 inch shut-off valve, attach a 3/8 inch flexible line to that, and then use a 3/8 inch adaptor to hook onto my dryer pipe inlet.
Is that right? Where can I buy the adaptors I need? I got the flexible line, the shut-off valve, and the adaptor between the flexible line and the dryer pipe inlet. But I can't find anything to get me from the 1 inch female in the main gas line to the 1/2 flare male in the shut-off valve. I tried Lowe's, and they did not have what I needed there.
Thanks.
