Some fun projects I have been doing... Pictures always help
Rewiring the laundry circuit is my latest job. I will comment on the pictures one at a time. It's always interesting what you find in my old home (C. 1950)
1. Someone's Idea of a pigtail (note the electrical tape doing the job). Also grounding here is no good.
2. Wires feed through this old (POS) outlet, wonder they worked at all.
3. Took Stan's advice and replaced the outlet I put in about a week ago with a metal one. Also put in good staples and not those nail in kind with the plastic bridge. I feel much better now!
4. Work in progress, okay I know shouldn't have the beer well working but hey I worked 12 hours today I deserve it.
5. Highly recommend the tool belt to anyone doing a good amount of work around the house. Without it I constantly found myself asking where is the _____ oh on the other side of the room again.

About all I have to say is damn I miss Labatt's. I only rarely find it since I moved to Tennessee.
I know the feeling, I lived in Atlanta for a year and Labatt was hard to find. I did find one bar that had it on tap but I think I was the only one who ever ordered it and they stopped serving it. Also I noticed that when you do find it in the South it is about twice as expensive, most likely due to transportation costs. I even started drink Bud Light for a while (gross).Quote:

Interesting...
Even with half of a tower de-energized, there is still 5,000 to 8,000 volts in the "dead lines" and 15-20 amps due to induced current from the live lines on the other side of the tower.
