:eek:My friend gave me a dvd with mp3 songs which are playing fine on my dvd player, but when I try to play the same disk on my computer with Win Xp, it shows it as blank disk.
Can I copy the mp3 songs on my hard disk as I have return the dvd.
I also tried to copy the disk using nero but it also shows it as blank disk.

You need to download some additional video codecs for this to play properly.

What prgram are you using to try and play mp3 on your PC

Assuming you are using WMP, even if not - you still need codecs for mp3 to play

Download codecs below and install with recommended settings
Free-Codecs.com : XP Codec Pack 2.4.6 is one of the most completed codec packs

But if it was missing codecs then other mp3 cd's should not be playing & also if it were missing codecs the explorer should at least show the files.

What player are you using to play mp3s

Have you tried to copy the mp3s to your hard drive from the cd and try to play

I meant to say audio codecs. I mistyped...

The explorer is shownig blank dvd.:confused:
I generally use winamp to play mp3 files which is playing other files normally.

Is the drive on your computer a CD/DVD drive? DVDs won't play on a regular CD/CDRW drive.

Yes I have a cd/dvd drive

What if the problem is that it shows the cd as a completely new cd ,blank but it plays in a car cd player?
