On Trucks, can a remote start malfunction and burn up a starter

Odds are that it won't burn up the starter but it can cause other damage if it's improperly installed - we had a customer burn up the entire wiring in her Cavalier because she had a friend install an aftermarket radio and he taped the wires together with duct tape. Make sure it's put in by someone who knows for sure what they're doing.
