Furnace shuts off when tube fills 2-3", then I unplught the drain tube where it is attached to a round bowl, (whats the name of this thing), the round bowl, has a pvc drain pipe leading away. This pvc drain tube is open as it runs down the side of the furnace and stops. Directly below is a pvc funnel to catch the drippings and drains away, so you can see water droplets.

Concern in that this bowl where the drain tube is connected that maybe this is inoperative, as it is not taking, draining the water from that point.

Any ideas or help here would be greatly heart warming as it is 8 degrees here.

Can you show a pic of your setup? Im guessing the round bowl is plugged, try forcing air through it by blowing on the drain hose from the other end. You have a clog somewhere. The condensate should flow freely to drain. Find where drain is plugged, get it unplugged, and you should be fine.

How many hoses drain into bowl? Plug all but one intlet hole, blow through the one open inlet hole, and it should blow out the bottom of the pvc pipe

To be able to blow air through the drain side of the pipe, I will need to get the jig saw out as this furnace is in a enclosed area in our attached garage for an addition we had a builder put on back in '02.

I guess I will try anything at this point.

Which tube is filling with water? What are you calling a bowl(in the pic)

Picture 2, shows a plastic transparent tube, connecting to a fitting at a round piece (bowl) which above it has two, one larger one smaller red drain, one to the left, one to the front, to the right side is the white pvc pipe.

Blow though the top end of the clear tube in pic two. See if that helps

OK, seems as though the furnace runs for a while (again) with everything reconnected then thbe fills up with 1-1/2" of water with only running a few minutes, maybe 3-5 min, then furnace shuts off.

I then turn the furnace off, drain all the water from the tube in pic 2, I disconnect it at the bottom, at the bowl (?) as it is really easy to pull out and reconnect. Then I can turn the furnace back on and the cycle starts all over again.

Clear tube will hold water up to the point of the outlet. May be a couple inches. Have you tried blowing through the bowl yet?

Yes blew through the bowl (?) last night.

Furnace stayed on all night an so far today. Only big difference is that the temps rose to 19 degrees by this am. So this might be a single digit concern with excess condinsation in the outlet pipe or maybe the clog?

Glad its working. Let me know if it acts up again. Check vent outside, and see if it isn't froze up.

Only maintenance you really have on a newer furnace is changing filters regularly.
