    lung cancer
    Goodmorning,

My question is relating to lung cancer. Recently my father was admitted to the hospital

for intestinal surgery. While there the doctors had discovered a small spot in his lung. As

it turned out the doctors determined he had lung cancer. My father has never smoked in

his life and now we feel he got this by having one too many chest x-rays in his lifetime. My

question is if this is the case what are the treatments and how long for recovery?

People who don't smoke have a risk for lung cancer too, it's just that the risk is higher for smokers. Is there a family history of cancer? X-rays won't cause cancer typically.

The treatments vary according to the stage of cancer, this will have to be discussed with his doctors and possibly an oncologist.
