No Hot water in Upstairs sink or bathtub
I live in a 75 year old house with mostly galvanized plumbing and a natural gas hot water heater. Last night, the coldest night of the year so far, I turned on the hot water in my upstairs sink to find quite a bit of sediment then very low water pressure on both hot and cold water out of the sink. I tried the shower hot and cold and everything seemed to run normally.

This morning, I have no hot water pressure in either the bathtub or the sink, but I have good pressure in all my faucets on the ground floor. The cold water runs fine in the tub, but slowly from the faucet, so I took the faucet apart to look for sediment. I pulled up some boards to reveal the hot water pipe and put a heater cord on them - they are very cold. I have my shower hot water valve open, and the heat blairing; but still no hot water after 2 hours.

What else can I do in lieu of calling a plumber? Or has anyone experienced anything like this before?
