    Carrier Furnace model 58MVP
My carrier furnace model 58MVP broke down this morning. Fault code is "4-2" - inducer rpm out of normal range.
Any suggestions on how to obtain a new module and how involved the repair is? Have scheduled a service appointment, but no one can get her for at least next day at best.
    Thank you

If they service that brand they usually have the part.

Aren't we jumping to conclusions? The fault you are experiencing does not necessarily mean the inducer is bad. Does it run? Several other possibilities... what is the model # ?

The poster was the person who jumped at the code then posted that they wanted to know how to get a new module on Saturday. Then they said they had a service call coming. So we did not jump to any conclusion but the poster did. I was thinking along a water problem but some of those models have heat exchanger problems both primary and especially the plastic coated secondary so it is better to be checked on site in my opinion. Nice part about the heat Xs is that they have the lifetime warranty on parts

Yessir, by "we" I meant the poster. Guys like us don't jump to anything anymore, except maybe free beer... ;)

I do not even jump for the free beer anymore. Gave up all the fun stuff 25 years ago dang it. Now I am the designated boater at camp. LOL I drive all the drunks around.

I just had the same problem. The fan was rubbing due to wear and would stick at times. To resolve while waiting for a new inducer fan I was able to spin the fan and get it going when it become stuck. Worked for me for 5 days until replaced.
