Would you like to do the same job that you do for that salary ?

    Hello ravana:

I'm not sure what you're asking, or why.

Certainly, if I were an 18 year old inexperienced person, I'd like to earn $25K a year... But, if I were a 55 year old VERY experienced person, I'd like to earn a great deal more.

I don't know what the average income tells you. It tells me that people are doing pretty good.

    @excon

I have no intentions at all . I just want to know if the regular person in us would like to work for that money .

With that money in ruanda you will be a rich man . But would you still be in the us with that money .

In a case of sweden you may change your mind .

So , can someone lives a decent life with that ? ( in us ofcorse . )

I know 1000's of people who would love that salary.

When I was living in TN and my company closed, I got a job at 25,000 a year that offered health insurance, and almost everyone in town could not believe I had gotten such great job.

    Hello again, Rav:

In answer to your hypothetical question, if your relative has NO work experience, and is not educated beyond high school, then a salary of $25K for the rest of his life HERE in the US, would be VERY GOOD.

However, in the REAL world, he's not going to earn the AVERAGE. He'll earn the BOTTOM.

And the bottom means ? 1000 $ p/m ? Or what ? How much is the bottom ?

    Hello again, r:

The federal minimum wage is $6.55 per hour. That's probably what your relative will earn. For a 40 hour week, that's $1,135 per month.

In a small little town, that's enough to get by. It's NOT enough for a decent life, including a car, internet, cable TV... It's for SURE NOT enough to get by in a large city.

    Median means middle, not average.

Half make below [ may be zero ] and half make above [ may be billions ] that $25,149.

Also, it depends on the cost of living in the specific area in the US:

$25,149 will not go far in San Francisco or New York city, but it may be comfortable enough in a small rural town.
