    I'm not sure this is something you want to do. I've seen mixed results with linoleum. Lots of times it stays down for many years, but other times it starts to bubble and pop. If you are going to put down ceramic tile, I'd go out and buy/rent a simple pole scraper to pop up the linoleum. Then screw down Durock sheets. Durock is sold in 3'x5' sheets and can be found at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. The tile can be laid on top of that.

    There's nothing worse than putting the time and effort into a beautiful tile job just to see grout and tiles pop a few years down the road.
