    Rheem heater cycles too much
My rheem furnace model # RGPH-10EAMER will cycle to often.
Will start heater up all seems to work fine but dos not bring temp up to where I have it set, then will kick off and come right back on blowing cool air. This happens even if I set the temp to hold at 72. Have it set right now to hold at 70 and has droped to 68 and funace is not coming on. Have duracraft programmable thermastat.

    Any one with help please

Many times a flame sensor will cause this type of problem but then again it could be something else. Since I am not there to see exactly what is happening or test the unit I can only offer advice.

Rheem had problems with the original flame detector design and came out with a upgrade kit. You might want to look into that and here is a link for you to look over.

In the mean time you might want to clean the falme sensor.
Easy does it and do not get around the ignitor since that item is sensitive. Usually the ignitor is black and the flame sensor is just metal style rod.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I went down and took off panels and cleaned the senser and whole inside of furnace and blew out the thermastat with air and everything seems to be working now. I think it is time to have service on it been 3 years.
    Thanks again,
    Doug
