I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but I'll take a stab at it:

HDMI. HDMI is a newer format, which is trying to replace the DVI format. It's better than DVI because it can supply comparable resolutions, but it does it while INCLUDING audio on the SAME CABLE. If you use HDMI, in other words, your video and audio are both digital, and they use the same cable.
