Inputting other hardware in mouse port.
I currently have my mouse connected to a usb port, the orignal port (round) is not in use. Although I am wanting to connect a camera to it with the same connector. This camera cannot be used with usb but does fit into the orignal mouse or keyboard ports. Is there a way to plug this camera in and refigure the port to accept the camera. This is a security camera, and I am wanting to hook it up to computer to record. Please help:confused:

Was the camera originally designed for use with a computer? Sometimes companies will use the same type of port, but for an entirely different purpose. It may look the same, and fit the same, but the Camera probably has NO idea how to talk back to the computer, and vice versa.

You can try to Google the model number on the camera, and see if you get anything. If there's some software you can download for the camera that lets it talk to the computer, you can try it, but I wouldn't expect too much.

What you can do is to purchase a PS2 to USB converter and try that route

Go to the camera's home page and see if you find any info there also
