I've read some of the previous asked questions and responses to see if I can find the answer to my problem, and just want to check if you agree. We revamped our bathroom and put in a shower as we had a house that was build in the 50's. I do not know how old the geyser is, but when we shower and we open only the cold water it comes out so strong that it actually hurts me, but as soon as you open the hot water it you almost have to run around the shower to get wet - could it be due to the Aerators that is durty? I know we had a problem with dirty (brownish) water a couple of weeks ago, but since we bought the house it had that problem, especially in the bathroom. Thx

Sorry, there are no aerators on a shower head or even associated with bath/shower in any way so I can safely state that it is not an aerator problem... ok? I can also suggest that the shower head isn't clogged or choked down as you stated that cold water pressure/volume actually "hurts you" so it must be something else.

I'm going to guess that it is more likely that the cold water shutoff going into the water heater or tankless coil is old and getting choked down over time... this would cause issue you are talking about... as well as other things.

You could start with the basics... remove the shower valve TRIM and then shut the water supply to the valve and then remove the guts inside the shower valve and then PULSE the water on to remove any sediment that could be clogging the hot water line, then re-assemble and then see if that helped.

If that didn't help then you start to check the shutoffs between the water heating source and the shower valve. May be that they are old/original and if replaced may restore the VOLUME of hot water available for showering...

Anyway, not a straight forward answer... need to troubleshoot this one step at a time.
