Sony VCR Connect to Samsung LCD TV With Rogers Cable Box
I just bought a 40" Samsung Full HD TV 1080 and would like to connect my Sony VCR SLV-N88 to this new Samsung HD TV via Rogers 4250 Cable Box using HDMI Cable.

With my present 20" ordinary TV (Tube), I connected using coaxial cable from the cable outlet on the Wall to Rogers Cable Box using antenna cable in / Cable out to my VCR antenna in / antenna out to my coaxial connect on TV (setting the TV on channel 3), I could see TV shows and could play on my VCR using the remote control.

I would like to do the same thing as I did with my present 20" ordinary TV (Tube), but connect using the new Samsung LCD TV by taking advantage to HD using HDMI cable.

Can you explain me through a diagram (just a sketch).

    shreves

If neither device has a hdmi or component input or output there is no way to do that. You will still have to use coax.
