Hi My name is Nicole, I have a son in the 11th grade that was offered the opportunity to participate in the people to people student embassadors program, he with help will get to travel to six different countries in the summer of 2009 with 40 other students from California, they will learn the culture and visit some very historic monuments, he will also earn college credits. His tuition is $6,499 for the 20day trip. My question is this, are there any programs that we maybe able to apply for to help my son Damion take full advantage of this one and a life time opportunity for a great experience.

In my area people hold fund raisers all the time for boy scouts, girl scouts, those types of trips. I am not aware of any organizations or associations that assist with funding these educational trips.

Have you researched this organization on the web? It has received some fairly bad press and has been sued for the death of a participant.
